Janel Myers Newell, Esq.
My parents, grandparents and great-grandparents lived their lives in the Canton and surrounding area. I was born, raised and educated in this area. For college, I went up the road to the University of Akron, graduating with a Criminal Justice/Political Science degree and then a law degree.
I started my legal professional care as an associate litigation attorney for Krugliak, Wilkins, Griffiths & Dougherty. I then struck out on my own before accepting a job as a Magistrate/Staff Attorney for the Stark County Court of Common Pleas. While I was with the Court, I also taught as an adjunct professor at Stark State College. These experiences gave me a taste of many different areas of law and the honor to work with some of the finest judges, magistrates, staff and attorneys in this area.
I relocated to South Carolina and obtained my law license there. During my time in the Spartanburg area, I became the first female City Judge for Spartanburg. Additionally, I continued teaching as an adjunct professor.
Upon moving again, I obtained my real estate license in North Carolina. I made one more move to Georgia. And I am now back in Ohio and focusing on the areas of real estate, HOAs, commercial leases, landlord/tenant, purchase agreements and trusts.
Although I lived in the South for many years, my heart was always beating for the Buckeyes! My kids are all grown and spread out throughout the South. I will always have someplace warm to visit during the winter months!
